LiteTouch™ Er:YAG dental laser is able to debond veneers while preserving the tooth structures!

Dr. Zhang et al. aimed to verify if Er:YAG laser, at low fluences, is able to debond porcelain veneers successfully, without damaging the tooth structures. 12 freshly extracted and decontaminated teeth, were bonded with porcelain veneers. One week later, the LiteTouch™ Er:YAG laser was used to debond the veneers.  Results demonstrated that veneer debonding is possible with the LiteTouch™ Er:YAG laser and SEM images confirmed that, when using low fluences, the residual tooth structure is not altered.

The authors concluded that low fluences of the LiteTouch™ Er:YAG dental laser are able to debond veneers while preserving the tooth structures!
