The result: All four studies reported favorable results with Erbium Lasers for the conservative debonding of ceramic laminate veneers without enamel damage. The included studies evaluated dental morphology mainly through scanning electron microscopy (SEM), and light microscopy.
The conclusion: The Erbium Lasers are useful for the removal of ceramic laminate veneer without enamel damage. However, the removal is influenced by the type and thickness of ceramic and the type of cement used. It can be concluded that the application of the Erbium laser does not promote superficial changes in the dental enamel. This effect was observed in all analyses performed.
