The result: After 6 months of treatment in pediatric patients, the Laser + Desensitizer (La + De) group had significantly lower mean scores (p < 0.001) in all dimensions of OHIP-14. The La + De and La groups, as well as the La + De and De groups, were different in total OHIP, functional limitation, physical disability, and psychological disability (p < 0.05). Mean values of each dimension differed significantly between group Co and the La + De group (p < 0.0001).

The conclusion: The combination therapy with the LiteTouch™ Er:YAG laser and GLUMA desensitizer had greater desensitizing effects and OHRQoL improvement for MIH pediatric patients, which provides an effective alternative treatment in the management of dentin hypersensitivity in MIH children and can reduce the negative impact on daily activities to a greater extent, thus improving the quality of life.
